We invest every day in teaching, research, scientific culture and innovation to contribute to the development of the veterinary profession and the improvement of the quality of services for animals.
Our pillars
Vocational Training
We believe that knowledge is the starting point of all progress.
That is why we invest in people's growth, developing technical, scientific and interpersonal skills fundamental to operating with awareness in the animal sector.
Our training courses accompany students towards a comprehensive professionalism, building a responsible, up-to-date and animal welfare-oriented work culture.
Veterinary facilities
Our facilities represent places of excellence, where professionalism, clinical experience and passion converge to ensure high quality services and constant advancement of practical knowledge.
They are environments where theory and reality are integrated, allowing students to confront real cases and professionals to update themselves in a dynamic and highly qualified context.
An educational and operational space that generates value for the community, for animals and for those working in the veterinary sector.

Our Story
The birth of ABIVET
ABIVET was founded in 1995 by the union of four veterinary professionals with a clear objective: to create a centre of excellence capable of offering innovative services, specialist training and a modern approach to animal welfare. From the very beginning, ABIVET has been distinguished by its ability to integrate clinical expertise, scientific updating and professional teaching.
Opening of the San Francesco Veterinary Clinic
In 1996 the San Francesco Veterinary Clinic was opened, one of the first structured clinics in Italy. Still today it represents a reference point for thousands of owners, professionals and students, thanks to its advanced clinical approach and strong integration between practice and training.
The first course for Veterinary Technicians in Italy
In 2000 ABIVET launched the first structured course for Veterinary Technicians in our country, anticipating by more than a decade the standards adopted today at national and European level. Since then, the organisation has trained hundreds of professionals, contributing concretely to the growth and recognition of this figure in the veterinary sector.
Digital innovation: the first online course
In 2005 ABIVET introduced one of the first online courses for Veterinary Technicians in Italy, bringing professional training into the e-learning world. The digital platform allows students to access up-to-date content and teaching materials wherever they are, making the course more flexible and inclusive.
ACOVENE European Accreditation
In 2007, ABIVET was awarded the prestigious ACOVENE (Accreditation Committee for Veterinary Nurse Education) accreditation. This recognition certifies that the course for Veterinary Technicians meets strict European standards in terms of content, teaching quality, clinical practice and professional skills. An achievement that positions ABIVET among the continent's leading training organisations.
Introduction of PBL teaching
Thanks to the support of European programmes, in 2014 ABIVET introduced the PBL - Problem Based Learning - methodology, an innovative approach based on inverted classes and learning through real clinical cases. Students study theory independently and then work on practical problems in the classroom, developing critical thinking and operational skills essential in veterinary clinical work.
ISO 9001:2015 certification
In 2015, ABIVET was awarded ISO 9001:2015 certification, attesting to the quality and efficiency of the company's processes. This certification demonstrates the institution's ongoing commitment to continuous improvement, structured management of training activities and ensuring high standards for students, partners and veterinary facilities.
UNI Practice 45:2018 for the Veterinary Technician
2018 saw the introduction of UNI Practice 45:2018, the first official document defining the skills, requirements and responsibilities of the Veterinary Technician in Italy. ABIVET actively contributes to this historic step, which is fundamental for the recognition and regulation of the profession at a national level.
ABIVET becomes a Benefit Corporation
Also in 2023, ABIVET becomes the first veterinary service company in Europe to formally include the status of a Benefit Corporation in its articles of association. A concrete commitment to transparency, social impact, sustainability and the well-being of animals and people.
ABIVET becomes CME Provider
In 2023 ABIVET obtained recognition as a CME Provider for Veterinarians, expanding its role in the continuing education of health professionals. The accreditation confirms the scientific and methodological quality of the courses offered, strengthening ABIVET's position in the field of continuing education.
CME Extension to Doctors and Pharmacists
In 2024, ABIVET will further expand its training offering and become a CME provider for doctors and pharmacists as well, extending its reach to the entire healthcare sector. A decisive step towards integrated, multidisciplinary training.
New Headquarters Viale Etiopia 79

The facility has modern classrooms, advanced laboratories and state-of-the-art technology, designed to offer an innovative and highly professional training environment. Our Code of Ethics, inspired by the Legislative Decree 231/2001, is not just a set of rules, but a real charter of valuesintegrity, transparency, loyalty, responsibility and respect are the pillars that define our corporate identity.

Every project, collaboration or service is geared towards generating value for the community, protecting animals and operating in full compliance with the standards and ethical principles that guide ABIVET.
Our vision
Achieving animal welfare with full respect for common morals and bioethics
Our Mission
Provide all the training, health and cultural tools to make as many people as possible acquire the skills and responsibilities necessary for the proper management of animal welfare.
ABIVET is the first veterinary service company in Europe to acquire the status of a benefit company in its articles of association, once again underlining its predisposition towards transparency and interest in animals and people.
We have always worked with a focus on ethics and sound morality. We have always had it in our DNA. Now we have it written indelibly in our statutes as well.
Benefit societies are companies that, in the exercise of an economic activity, in addition to the purpose of sharing profits, pursue one or more aims of common benefit and operate in a responsible, sustainable and transparent manner towards people, communities, territories and the environment, cultural and social goods and activities, bodies and associations and other stakeholders.
Benefit Societies (SBs) represent an evolution of the very concept of a company. While traditional companies exist with the sole purpose of distributing dividends to shareholders, benefit societies are an expression of a more evolved paradigm: they integrate into their corporate purpose, in addition to profit objectives, the purpose of having a positive impact on society and the biosphere. A Benefit Corporation is a legal instrument that creates a solid basis for long-term mission alignment and the creation of shared value. It is not a Social Enterprise or an evolution of the non-profit sector, but a positive transformation of the dominant models of for-profit enterprise, a virtuous and innovative legal form.
